ARDUINO XBEE SHIELD
El shield para XBee simplifica la tarea de interfaz entre un XBee y un Arduino. Esta tarjeta se monta directamente sobre un Arduino y le agrega las características de comunicación inalámbrica del popular módulo XBee. Esta tarjeta funciona con todas las series de XBee incluyendo Serie 1 y Series 2.5, en versiones estándar y pro.
Los pines seriales (DIN y DOUT) del XBee están conectados a través de un switch SPDT, lo que te permite seleccionar si deseas emplear el puerto serial de hardware o uno de software en los pines D2 y D3 de tu Arduino. La alimentación es tomada de los 5V del Arduino y es regulada a 3.3V antes de ser suministrada al XBee con capacidad de corriente de hasta 1A por lo que podrás usar módulos PRO sin ningún problema.. Este shield también realiza las conversiones necesarias a 3.3V del pin DIN del XBee mediante un convertidor de niveles.
Esta tarjeta también incluye LEDs para indicar alimentación y actividad en DIN, DOUT, RSSI, y DIO5 en el XBee. El botón de reset del Arduino se encuentra disponible en el shield y se tiene también un área de agujeros a 0.1" para prototipo
El módulo XBee NO esta incluido.
Advertencia: Se requiere una resistencia de pull-up en DIN en esta placa para que funcione correctamente. Afortunadamente, la Serie 1 y Serie 2 módulos XBee tienen su pull-up interna activada por defecto. Usted tendrá que activar manualmente el pull-up en la serie de 900MHz.
Atención, ten en cuenta que el módulo XBee es série 2 y sólo se puede comunicar con módulos de su misma série. No funciona con série 1.

Description: This new revision fixes some minor spacing and labeling issues, but functionality remains the same.The XBee Shield simplifies the task of interfacing an XBee with your Arduino. This board mates directly with an Arduino Pro or USB board, and equips it with wireless communication capabilities using the popular XBee module. This unit works with all XBee modules including the Series 1 and Series 2 (and 2.5), standard and Pro version. This is SparkFun's own design and is a distant relative to the official XBee Shield from Arduino.
The serial pins (DIN and DOUT) of the XBee are connected through an SPDT switch, which allows you to select a connection to either the UART pins (D0, D1) or any digital pins on the Arduino (D2 and D3 default). Power is taken from the 5V pin of the Arduino and regulated on-board to 3.3VDC before being supplied to the XBee. The shield also takes care of level shifting on the DIN pin of the XBee.
The board also includes LEDs to indicate power and activity on DIN, DOUT, RSSI, and DIO5 pins of the XBee. The Arduino's reset button is brought out on the shield, and a 12x11 grid of 0.1" holes are available for prototyping. The shield does not come with headers installed; we recommend the 6 and 8-pin stackable headers. The XBee module is also not included.
Note: A pull-up on DIN is required for this board to work properly. Thankfully, Series 1 and Series 2 XBee modules have their internal pull-up enabled by default. You will need to manually enable the pull-up on the 900MHz series.
